Dr.
Steinberg is
the most recent addition to Cardiothoracic Surgery, P.C. joining
the practice in 2003. Since then he has served as an attending
Cardiothoracic Surgeon at Memorial Hospital, St. Joseph Regional
Medical Center, and Elkhart General Hospital.
He graduated cum laude from the University of Rochester with a
B.S. in Biochemistry in 1992. He then proceeded to earn his medical
degree from the University of Pittsburgh, graduating in 1996. His
specialty training continued at the University of Florida where
he served as resident and chief resident in general surgery from
1996 to 2001. Thereafter, he completed his cardiothoracic fellowship
training at the University of Rochester Strong Memorial Hospital
from 2001
to 2003 serving as resident and again chief resident in Cardiothoracic
Surgery.
Dr. Steinberg holds the board certification with National Board
of Medical Examiners, the American Board of Surgery and is board
eligible with the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. He holds
a medical license in the states of Florida and Indiana and is
certified with the US Drug Enforcement Agency. He has authored
numerous specific papers focusing on RNA processing and atherogenesis.
As residents in the South Bend community, Dr. Steinberg, along
with his wife Jennifer and three new sons, have plenty to keep
themselves busy away from the hospital. They enjoy camping, backpacking,
whitewater rafting, and local theater.
